Copper Bowl

Part of a collection of antique and contemporary copper collected over the years in my travels to England and Scotland, this solid copper mixing bowl is a favorite for whipping egg whites to make meringues. Egg whites beaten in a copper bowl have more volume and stay firmer longer than whites beaten in stainless steel bowls.

Bee and Jai of Jugalbandi together host a brilliant photography event called Click with a different theme each month. Metal is the theme for March and I thought my copper bowl was a perfect metal to enter into this fabulous event which gives us photographers some great still life and food photography experience.
